Prayer & Fasting

As a church we’ve not gathered in the same room for nearly five months. We’ve all experienced deep pain and hardship during this prolonged season of isolation, from the struggle for justice, the worry for provision, to the grief of loss.

1 Corinthians 12:27 reminds us that “… [we] are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” To extend the body analogy a little further, we’ve not used many muscles of community, corporate singing, life on life ministry, or simply laughing together, in months.

On the heels of compounded hardship, our church is preparing to regather as a congregation (deliberately and safely). We know this is a big move The Enemy does not want us to make. We recognize there are risks to any gathering at this time, but we also know that this is something God is calling us toward.

God has placed us here to transform NYC, to see justice and compassion expressed in our city. To see many more people come to know Jesus. To be a church of rich, deep, life giving relationships.

To this end, we’re calling a three-day fast from August 11 – 13, 2020. A fast to cover our church in prayer. Over these three days we will focus our prayers on three areas: Unity, Protection, and Power. We will also have daily prayer calls at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Whether you’re personally able to take part in our in-person service or not, we invite you to fast and pray with us.
